Just read the post by Zheyuan from JH403. Another splendid post again. What I really love is how he's willing to ask and clarify what he's not sure about. Even better are the fellow classmates who have chipped in. I thought I would need to respond to the question but what is great is that Calvin came up with the answer himself. Wonderful!
Anyway, other than mindmaps, thought of sharing this video with you. It's a song about the carbon cycle made by some students as an honours year project. It's a really neat job they did cause it's a fusion of several types of music melded into a nice a capella. What's more, they got the facts right with rigour as well. You can find the lyrics by clicking the info button in YouTube. Enjoy!

Just to please the dark master. Expecting a reward - a dozen marks or a dozen slaves. 'evil laugh'
ReplyDeleteI based my answer upon the Gaia theory. It's a theory that the Earth itself is "a complex entity involving the Earth's biosphere, atmosphere, oceans, and soil". which regulates itself nicely. Evolution itself works wonders, since it created trees, which helped to reduce CO2, and animals, which increased it. I'm not sure if it's all a coincidence, but it works anyway. The 'giant living organism' does NOT exist, in my opinion - it's just many small pieces working together in harmony. They probably all influence each other, which is how they came about. They regulate using 'positive feedback' (evolution: They survive, make more of them) and 'negative feedback'. Like more CO2, more trees, and vice versa.
If not a dozen slaves, I'll settle for a tagboard. Make the site more interactive. Just a suggestion.
